![]() Dear HealthStart Supporter, 2018 has started off with a bang! This month HealthStart’s kicking off our partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA). We’ll be attending HACA’s Citywide Advisory Council and two Resident Council meetings to introduce our summer Children’s Health Education Workshop Series (CHEWS) and learn more about the families we will be serving. HACA brings opportunity home with rent subsidies, jobs programs, and health education for low-income Austin area families. You’ll also find HealthStart at the Mueller and Lakeline Texas Farmer’s Markets this month through May. We’ll be playing Brain Food Bingo and Monstralia Corn Hole Toss and making veggie art. If you haven’t been to a farmers market with your family read our article below to see what you’re missing. This past month HealthStart again participated the Austin Marathon as an official charity of Austin Gives Miles, the marathon’s philanthropic arm. You can read about HealthStart’s success with AGM in this issue. Finally, HealthStart’s Spring Gala is almost upon us! If you haven’t gotten your tickets, you can do so here. Enjoy bites from Deckhands, The Steeping Room, House Park BBQ and other great local restaurants to nourish every part of your body, live music from David Rosenblad, a silent auction featuring a week’s stay in a Cape Cod home. The evening will conclude with a square dance with Sharon Isaac & The Barn Owls. And that’s only the Spring. Stay tuned to learn about what HealthStart will be doing to this summer and beyond.
